When it comes to caring for your children’s clothing, it's important to follow proper laundry care instructions to maintain the garments quality and ensure longevity. Here are some general guidelines that we suggest here at Dot + Leopard.
*Separate the clothing by colour and fabric type before washing. This prevents colour bleeding and protects delicate fabrics from damage.
* Treat any stains promptly before washing. You can use a stain remover or gently rub a small amount of liquid detergent directly onto the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before washing.
*Use a gentle or delicate cycle, especially for delicate fabrics or garments with embellishments. Use a mild, child-friendly detergent to avoid skin irritation and always wash on cold. We also recommend a laundry bag for some of our items.
* Some clothes may be suitable for tumble drying, while others require air drying. For delicate items, it's often safer to air dry to prevent shrinking or damage.
*Iron on a low to medium heat setting and consider using a pressing cloth or ironing on the reverse side of the garment to protect delicate prints or decorations. You will find that most of our items do not need ironing, especially if they are hung out immediately after washing.
Storage: Fold or hang the clean clothes appropriately to prevent wrinkles and maintain their shape. Keep them in a clean and dry place, away from direct sunlight, to avoid discoloration or fading.
